Cancellation of Camp
22nd December 2020
Dear Parents and Campers,
We unfortunately have had to make the decision to cancel this year's Camp, due to the coronavirus. Because the trend of covid-19 in the Western Cape has risen above the rate of spread seen in the first wave, there is concern about how widely the virus is spreading. We thus felt that parents and Campers wouldn't have felt comfortable with us holding the Camp, even though we had planned covid-19 safety precautions. This decision was taken unanimously at an executive committee Zoom meeting (with about 20 Mainstreeters present).
A lot of work went into planning the Camp, but ultimately we are making the most responsible decision. We have planned a work party, for maintenance, on 29 December, at 10:00, at the Dimple.
We hope that you have a successful year in 2021, and that the vaccine will start to make life more normal.
